A tsunami warning has been issued for the Philippines by the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center in Hawaii as of 9 p.m. Friday, August 31, 2012, due to a magnitude 7.9 earthquake in Eastern Samar.
Other places issued the same warning are Belau, Guam, Indonesia, Japan, Northern Marianas, Papua New Guinea, Taiwan, and Yap island.
