TODAYSNETNEWS: 07 March 2011 -- IAEA: International Atomic Energy Agency, Vienna, Austria - International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Director General, Yukiya Amano, today (7 March) delivered a report to the Agency's Board of Governors. The 35-nation Board is meeting to discuss the IAEA's work on nuclear verification, safety, security and the peaceful use of nuclear technologies. In his opening statement, Director General Amano reported on a range of issues, briefing Member States on the implementation of nuclear safeguards in Iran and Syria. He noted that Iran is not providing "the necessary cooperation" to the IAEA in order to provide "credible assurance" about the absence of an undeclared nuclear programme.
