Amina Janjua urges end to abductions of innocent citizens

Chairperson of Human Rights Council, Amina Masood Janjua has urged the world community including Pakistan to express staunch resolves to avoid any further abduction of innocent, hapless citizens. Marking the commemoration of 30 August as the International Day of Disappeared, she said that the Supreme Court has ordered government to ensure immediate cessation of any forced abductions.She said that the cruel, discriminatory practice which originated after 9/11, according to which unscrupulous military dictators started transferring demanded citizens to America in return for dollars; citing an open confession penned by former President Musharraf, in his book.Amina further deliberated that during the 70s era, Latin American countries splurged in the discriminatory practice of abducting its own citizens in order to suppress any voices/efforts for all kinds of rights, while the practice is carried out with impunity in such parts of the world as Burma and Philippines among others: while India was one glary, primary example of gross violations committed against Kashmiri people. “However decades of intense struggle by mothers and female element in Latin America initiated UN to pass a declaration, followed by a convention against forced abductions”, she elucidated.She also highlighted that despite denials by Pakistani authorities regarding missing persons, the Supreme Court had played an effective part in recovery of many a missing persons; while all Assemblies also played its due part through countless ‘resolutions’ and open hearted admittances.The chairperson Human Rights commission cited the open confession /admittance of former PM, Yousaf Raza Gilani on 27th May 2012, and another Court statement of Peshawar High Court’s chief Justice Hon. Dost Muhammad about the 1800 plus missing persons’ issue.She also lambasted the current ‘democratic ‘government for its shameless servitude of America, most notably through the current decision of reopening of NATO supplies.
