Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf has barred the auction of some very expensive plots by CDA, after media reports cried foul over the issue. Taking due notice of the issue after it surfaced in media, the PM ordered CDA Chairman Farkhand Iqbal to cease any further action over the issue, and has been known to have summoned both CDA Chairman Farkhand Iqbal and Cabinet Secretary Nargis Sethi; while also summoning the report within three days. Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf has also issued a strong rejoinder warning of no further laxity by government over the scandal and issues of transparency and good governance. It is pertinent to mention that Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf had taken immediate notice of sale of some very expensive plots worth billions in and around Blue Area; after reports rolled in that chairman CDA was exerting pressure for selling these plots through a pre-qualification notice, instead of legal mode of public auctions.
