I Killed John Lennon - Part 4 of 4 - The story of John Lennon's assassination

The man who killed ex-Beatle member John Lennon, has been denied parole for the seventh time in a row and during the latest parole meeting, he recounted the horrific details of the murder

Legendary singer John Lennon was killed almost three decades back, and his murderer is still trying hard to get out of prison. Mark David Chapman is the man who killed John Lennon, and that too for one reason; because of his fame. During a parole hearing which took place on Aug. 22, Chapman again recounted the horrific details of how and why he killed Beatles' singer John Lennon, and even though he said he regretted his decision, he was not granted parole.
Some really horrific details emerged regarding Lennon's death. Chapman told the parole board that he used hollow bullets to kill Lennon, and the sole reason behind that was because they were more deadly! Mark David Chapman killed John Lennon on Dec. 8, 1980, in New York, outside Lennon's home. He told the board that he only killed Lennon because of his fame. If other people were more famous than him at that time, then Lennon probably would not have died. Chapman said that he even considered targeting television host Johnny Carson and actor George C. Scott, but eventually it was Lennon who was killed because he was the most famous at that time.
Chapman told the board that he was living in Hawaii when he decided to target Lennon and that he came to New York two times to carry out his plans. He said that during the first time he came, he called up his wife and told her that he would kill Lennon. However, at that time he watched the movie 'Ordinary People' and changed his mind. When he went back to Hawaii, his desire to kill overcame his other senses and he flew back to New York and this time around went ahead with his plans. He went to John Lennon's apartment, which he had found out during his previous trip, and there he waited for Lennon outside his house. Chapman said that during the morning, when Lennon came out with his wife Yoko Ono, he went up to him and asked for his autograph. Chapman reported that Lennon had been very nice and friendly with him. He then said that Lennon and Ono, came back home at around 11 p.m. that night, and that is the time he just shot him in the back.
Immediately after the shooting, Chapman was arrested and he his serving time for his hideous crime at the Wende Correctional Facility in New York.
