Students once again proved that some of the most creative and fascinating work comes from budding designers and their fresh perspectives such as at the Swedish School of Textiles S/S 2013 Fashion Show during Mercedes-Benz Stockholm Fashion Week on August 29, 2012 in Stockholm, Sweden.
Those very intriguing and quite unique creations came from the fashion collections of designers including Maria Sofia Bahlner, Josefin Mellander, Greta Madelene Ericsson, Greta Gram, Linnea Bagander and Sara Lundberg.
Granted that this particular fashion show was for the Swedish School of Textiles but designs on display by the Maria Sofia Bahlner S/S 2013 collection looked like shag carpets, bath towels, rubberbands and gumballs! Perhaps something was lost in the translation from the Swedish?
Yet another model came out wearing perhaps a rain parka, quite puff in its hooded construction and resembling a plastic garbage bag – no offense!
Josefin Mellander and her fashion show layered different garments together in a serious of curious juxtapositions such as the tartan, teatowel, military blanket and blue tunic number.
Similarly, designer Greta Gram made quite a style statement with her layered pants as accessory worn on top of a monochrome white ensemble to include a translucent white chiffon shirt and white tights – fascinating!
Evidently the focus of these creations was on textiles, especially the textures and moods they create rather than fashion design…
Greta Madelene Ericsson on the other hand had quite a number of edgy pieces for men including the taupe trench coat with an unusual frilly-necked lizard collar, albeit accessorized with a scary black ski mask!
And the floral dress, complete with its own floral halo, from Sara Lundberg wasn’t bad either!
