Kelly Osbourne came to the defence ofafter the comedian confronted Rihanna on Twitter about her current relationship with Chris Brown.
Rihanna recently explained tothat she still has feelings for Brown, who she split from in February 2009 after he assaulted her, saying: ”We love each other and we probably always will.”
The comment irked Rivers, who took to Twitter.com to call the star out on her confession, writing, “Rihanna confessed to Oprah Winfrey that she still loves Chris Brown. Idiot! Now it’s MY turn to slap her.”
Not a woman to be put down, Rihanna quickly quipped back to Joan, before promptly deleting the tweet. "@Joan_Rivers wow u really do get slow when you're old huh?"
She then followed up with a simple, "Slap on some diapers."
The 79 year-old comedian may be sharp-witted but she came back with a true advice:”Honey, @Rihanna, everyone knows: If he hit you once, he’ll hit you again. Read the statistics. PS – Love to have you on Fashion Police!
Joan’s Fashion Police co-host Kelly Osbourne was quick to run to the defence of Rivers, trying to explain how her words maybe were meant to be in jest: "W/ the greatest of respect 2 a young lady of whom I love please get a sense of humor @joan_rivers paved the way 4 all us opinionated ladies!"
The singer broke down in tears during a chat with Winfrey on Winfrey’s OWN network show earlier this month when she admitted she still loves her ex-boyfriend, who was charged with assault and placed on probation after he beat her in 2009.
