IIFA Awards at Singapore had all the ingredients that could satisfy a Bollywood fan. The movies that were most appreciated were Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara and Rock Star. Rekha was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award for her special contribution to the Indian cinema.

The International Indian Film Academy recently hosted its award function of 2012 in Singapore. IIFA with its aim to promote the Indian cinema throughout the world has as always hosted its awards outside India in order to bring about the awareness about the Indian cinema internationally.

IIFA award for the outstanding contribution to greener environment was given to Dia Mirza. Priyanka Chopra along with Shahid Kapoor also performed on the songs from their upcoming movie Teri Meri Kahani in order to promote it. Along with Shahid Kapoor was seen none other than the dance guru Prabhu Deva moving smoothly on the dance floor.

The winner in the popular category for the best film was Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar. The award for the actor in leading role was given to Ranbir Kapoor for Rock Star. The award for the actress in a leading role was won by Vidya Balan for ‘The Dirty Picture’. The award for the best music director was given to none another than A R Rahman for his music in Rockstar.
