Bal’ad: At least six children are confirmed dead and about 10 others wounded after a bomb in which they were playing, exploded that brought the death and injuries of the children in Bal’ad district in middle Shabelle region north the capital Mogadishu, officials said.
Chairperson of middle Shabelle region, Abdi Jinow Alasow told Radio Mogadishu that this tragic occurred this morning in Bal’ad district when young children who were playing with anti-tank bomb detonated killing six and injuring 10 others.
Osman Mohamud Hadow, district commissioner of Bal’ad told SONNA (Somali National News Agency) that children were at holy Kuran school and the bomb exploded when they hit it with stones and other irons.
Osman Mohamud, the district commissioner of Bal’ad district said that the injured children taken into hospital into the capital Mogadishu.
This is not new event in Somalia in particular southern Somalia since 1991 when the central government collapsed and got the country into prolonged civil-war that left explosive elements that are very dangerous and always brings such casualties of the young children and so do other civilians.
