Peshawar, 40 percent mothers of Khyber Pukhtoonkhwa province didn’t Brest feed to their children. That’s effect not only the health of new born babies but also mothers. This has been stated the UNICEF provincial expert Dr. Jamil in a media briefing at health directorate on Monday.
Provincial Directorate of health arranges the inauguration program about breast feeding week on Monday. In which Provincial director general of the health directorate didn’t attend the inauguration program. But An Expert from UNICEF, World Health organization, EPI and NGOS attend the program.
Director health services Rooh Ullah inaugurate the breast feeding week. In an inauguration address he stated that during the Breast Feeding week we arrange seminars and talk shows in 13 different districts of the province with the help of lady health workers

Dr. Jamil of UNICEF said that in the Khyber Pukhtoonkhwa province mother didn’t give feed well with the children, which are why most of newborn babies are weak. According to health and nutrition survey more than72 percent of children didn’t growth for their age. He further added that thirty to forty percent new born child's birth low weight.
Dr. Jamil of UNICEF urged to the different health partners to support the program and aware the people about breast feeding. He said that QURAN gives the way of life. Through QURAN we know that only breast feeding is good for the children and it’s the duty of every other to feed the children until 2 years because it’s complete food for children.
Dr. Janbaz Afridi of EPI also address in inauguration program. He said that in new polio case in Peshawar, we found that mother feed the child through the bottle even the child gets the polio vaccine.
During the question answer session the Director Health Services of Khyber Pukhtoonkhwa admits that some Doctors didn’t follow the Ordinance of 2002, that the federal government issued for the mother and children health nutrition ordinance.
