A Chinese city still holds the bikini parade record after Maryland failed to break it.
In Ocean City, Organizers of Saturday's event fell short to take the title from Huludao City in China. There were only 325 women who turned out due to heavy rain. The poor turnout was blamed on the rain, Brad Hoffman, organizer of the parade for the North Ocean City Business Alliance said.
Initially organizers were trying to draw more than 1,085 to beat the record set in China earlier this month. The 25-block parade included women of all ages.
A registration fee of $10 for the event benefited charities including the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life.
