Two shopkeepers killed and and another injured in an armed clash with Taliban in Mohmand Agency

GHALLANAI: At least two persons were killed and three others sustained injuries in an armed clash between militants of unlawful Tehrik-e-Taliban (TTP), Mohmand chapter and local shopkeepers of main town Mian Mandi on Wednesday some 8 kilometers to the north from here, sources said. Eyewitnesses said that Taliban of Umer Khalid Group of TTP came a short while before Aftaar and wanted to forcibly close the shops dealing in heroine, charas, opium and other drugs that had already been warned by Taliban but the local shopkeepers resisted and gathered along with the nearby villagers to retaliate the firing of the Taliban which led to a fierce battle from both sides leaving two persons on part of shopkeepers dead and three others injured. One of the shopkeepers identified as Nasralullah Khan son of Ilyas Khan died at the spot while Abdul Qadeer son of Shakir from Shani Khel breathed his last when shifting to the agency HQ hospital Ghallanai.the injured was identified as Qowat son of Rehan Shah who was later discharged after dressing.
