Prime Minister Raja Parvez Ashraf will appear before the Supreme Court on Monday (today), the Presidential Spokesman said on Sunday. A high-level meeting of PPP and coalition partners was held at the Presidency on Sunday. Presidentand Prime Minister Raja Parvez Ashraf chaired the meeting in which the decision was made. That Presidential Spokesman added that federal ministers and coalition partners would also accompany the prime minister.The meeting was attended by PML-Q President Chaudhry Shujat Hussain, Deputy Prime Minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi, parliamentary leader of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Dr. Farooq Sattar and head of Awami National Party (ANP) Asfandyar Wali Khan.
Federal Law Minister Farooq H. Naek, Religious Affairs Minister Syed Khurshid Shah and Interior Ministerwere also present on the occasion.The Law Minister briefed the leaders of coalition parties about the legal perspectives of the issue.
The allies were of the opinion that the prime minister should appear before the Supreme Court. Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf was issued a notification to appear before the Supreme Court regarding writing a letter to Swiss authorities over the reopening of cases against President Asif Zardari.
