In today's world, the sacred and supernal have been downgraded to the mundane. Sacred things are now treated as common and trivial just like in the time of Daniel when King Belshazzar allowed his rulers, wives, and concubines drink from sacred goblets of God's Holy Temple, defiling holy things (Dan 5:2-3).
