In 2010, Haiti had been struck by an earthquake in which more than 250,000 persons had lost their lives and there was a heavy loss of properties.
Before Haitians could fully recover from that shock and trauma, a warning has now been issued to brace themselves for the Tropical Storm Isaac which is hurtling towards the Caribbean island.
Isaac was spotted 265-Km south of San Domingo and it is headed towards the Dominican Republic and Haiti and, the US National Hurricane Centre in Miami (USNHC) has cautioned that it could convert into a hurricane when it enters the Gulf of Mexico
As a result of the storm, Trinidad, Tobago and southern and eastern Puerto Rico have experienced heavy rains.
Once it strikes Haiti, it could result in up to 12-inches of rainfall.
Laurent Lamothe, the Prime Minister of Haiti has advised his people to avoid crossing rivers and to also keep their windows taped apart from remaining calm.
