Los Angeles California. Bill Shalkin of the Los Angeles Times reports the Los Angeles Dodgers claimed Adrian Gonzalez.

The Dodgers have 48 hours to discuss a possible trade with the Boston Red Sox to get Gonzalez on their roster. If the trade is not made within the time period the Red Sox will reclaim Gonzazlez on their team.

Gonzalez signed a seven year contract with the Boston Red Sox in April 2011 worth $147 million. If Gonzalez is traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers the Red Sox will owe Gonzalez $126 million dollars for the remainder of his contract.

The odds of the trade between the Dodgers and Red Sox being a reality is remote. Gonzalez who is a first baseman is a four time member of the National League All Star team.

Gonzalez has a batting average of .306, 16 home runs and 86 runs batted in the 2012 Major League Baseball season with the Boston Red Sox.
