After a telecon between Prime Minister David Cameron and US President Barack Obama, the UK echoed with the US in warning Syria that the use or threat of chemical weapons would force them to review their approach or would change their thinking on the situation.

French President Francois Hollande also joined in the discussion building support for the opposition.

The terrible situation that is going on in Syria was the main focus of Mr. Cameron’s conversations with Mr. Hollande and Mr. Obama, a Downing Street spokesman said. Mr. Cameron and Mr. Obama both decided that the use or threat of chemical weapons was totally not acceptable and would force them to revisit their approach so far, the spokesman added.

Earlier, Chinese state media accused Mr Obama of using the chemical arms issue as an alibi for military intervention.

Intense fighting rant and rave Wednesday in the northern Syrian city of Aleppo and in Damascus, which witnesses said was the heaviest attack by government forces since the army reclaimed its control of the capital last month.
