Elderly woman dies in a house fire in Caldwell Parish

Columbia Louisiana. Caldwell Parish Sheriff's Office deputies tell the News Star a fire broke out about 4pm Tuesday at a home on 132 Washer Road south of Columbia.

Caldwell Parish Sheriff's Office detective Tony Caldwell said the fire department answered an emergency call sent units from Olla, Kelly. Grayson and other fire fighting units to the house fire.

Detective Caldwell said Hattie Dunaway, 79, was found deceased inside her home.

The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Caldwell Parish Sheriff's Office and the Louisiana State Fire Marshal.
