Foxborough Massachusetts. Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick was injured Monday night during a preseason game in the middle of the first quarter when he took a hit to his ribs and never returned to the game versus the New England Patriots.
Vick left the game after his injury and had an x ray examination which showed he had no broken bones. The Eagles won the preseason game 27-17.
Vick on Tuesday will have a MRI and CT scan to determine if there is any cartlidge damage to his ribs.
A source close to the Philadelphia Eagles told Pro Football Talks' Mike Florio Vick is not concerned that he will miss being the starting quarterback on Opening Day when the Philadelphia Eagles will face the Cleveland Browns as their opponent on Sunday September 9.
Vick will not play in the Eagles two remaining preseason games versus the Cleveland Browns on Friday August 24 and Thursday August 30 due to his injury and it would asinine for Vick to risk another injury in two meaningless games before the regular season begins.
