Baton Rouge police report a man was killed when a tree fell on his truck

Baton Rouge Louisiana. Baton Rouge Police Department spokesman Corporal L'Jean McKneeley said the police responded to an emergency call around 11:34am on Saturday when a tree fell on the cab of a pickup truck on the 5900 block of College Drive.

McKneeley said the driver of the 2007 Chevrolet Silverado Nathaniel Evans Jr., 66, of Baton Rouge was driving northbound on College Drive toward Jefferson Highway when a tree fell on his pickup truck.

McKneely said Evans was pronounced dead at the scene of the tragic accident.

McKneeley said the police believe the severe weather in the area of the accident caused the tree to collapse on the pickup truck that killed the driver.

It happened anywhere in the world, especially if the tree is century old, it has to be chopped down, it's a risk to motorist.
