So it’s the boy wizard against the girl wonder this time according to Amazon.com after the Hunger Games trilogy outsold the Harry Potter series. This has become a surprise considering the fact that Hunger Games comes in trilogy only while Harry Potter series comes in 7 books. However, Fifty Shades of Grey is also making a run with its own trilogy selling more than 20 million copies upon its release in Kindle and Amazon.com. Questions as how long will it take for E.L James to take the top spot is now another thing to watch out.

Currently, Suzanne Collins Hunger Games, Catching Fire and Mockingjay published by Scholastics is Amazon’s top selling books of all time and is also included in the top 50 books in print and in kindle format. In Kindle, it is also the top book borrowed as of the moment.

The Hunger Games and the Harry Potter series movie adaptations earned good in box office and Katniss of the Hunger Games is still set to make more money with the next two instalments of the trilogy. On the other hand, the newly introduced 50 Shades of Grey is already making a noise with its upcoming movie adaptation marking another trilogy in the making.
