Two robbers robbed a couple of $23225 at knifepoint in Northcliffe Surf Club at Surfers Paradise last September and, not content with bragging about it on Facebook, went on to getting tattoos drawn on their upper arms.

That was their undoing.

30-year old John Robert Cole and 19-year old Shailee Jane Kingston were the partners in crime.

After the heist, they got themselves tattooed – they had each other's names tattooed above an image of wads of cash with the words ‘Partner in Crime’.

These clues helped the police nab them.

The girl had boasted the robbery at knifepoint on FB and admitted to the police that she and her boyfriend had decided to get the tattoos to mark the success of their hold-up.

Both have been sentenced to 4 and 3-years respectively but, because the girl is pregnant, she was released on immediate parole.

The man John Robert Cole is apparently, a hardened criminal – he has a 42-page criminal history which includes two attempts at escaping from prison apart from earlier offences of burglary.
