Oklahoma City Oklahoma. The Oklahoma City Thunder confirmed on Saturday the contract agreement with power forward Serge Ibaka to a four year contract worth $48 million.
Ibaka finished second in the voting for the National Basketball Association (NBA) Defensive Player of the Year in the 2011-12 NBA basketball season with an average of 3.7 blocks per game.
Ibaka is third rookie on the Thunder to sign a contract extension. Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook are the other players who previously agreed to sign the maximum contract extensions allowed by the collect bargaining agreement.
Ibaka, 22, was born in the Republic of Congo. He gained citizenship in Spain in 2011. Ibaka was a member of the Spanish national team that won the silver medal in the 2012 Summer Olympic Games in London.
