When people of the agency were celebrating Eid-ul-Fitar on Saturday, US unmanned aircrafts fired missiles which killed at least four people in Shawal area of North Waziristan Agency, lawless tribal region bordering Afghanistan, the government source says Saturday. The drone attack was aimed at a house and a car, officials said. “CIA drone fired two missiles which hit a house and a vehicle in Shuidar, a remote village near Shawal, main town near Afghan border, this strike killed at least four people,” a political agent told the media. The attack comes a day after Army chief General Parvez Kayani hinted at a military offensive in the same region but said it would not be initiated at the behest of any outside power. Last month, a US drone strike on a compound in North Waziristan killed 12 suspected militants.
