Olympics’ maximum medals winner of all time and swimming legend Michael Phelps of USA has landed into trouble over his recent photo shoot for the French fashion house Louis Vuitton. The photo shoot was done by the world famous photographer Annie Leibovitz. The photos have currently been leaked online and create controversy as it violates the International Olympic Committee’s rule 40 which states athletes are not permitted to promote any non-Olympic sponsors from July 18 to August 15.

According to rule 40, atheletes who are found guilty in violating the rule may be stripped of their medals from the London Olympics. The controversial rule 40 states "a competitor or a team may lose the benefit of any ranking obtained in relation to other events at the Olympic Games at which he or it was disqualified or excluded; in such case the medals and diplomas won by him or it shall be returned to the IOC," reported the Yahoo Sports.

Taking Michael Phelps medals away for doing an ad for Louis Vuitton is like getting a life sentence for parking in a no parking zone.
