Yamaha Motor Racing said Rossi had signed up to race for them for the 2013 and 2014 seasons, renewing an association that saw him finish in the top three for seven consecutive years a period that included four titles.

Rossi is an Italian professional motorcycle racer and multiple MotoGP World Champion. He is one of the most successful motorcycle racers of all time, with nine Grand Prix World Championships to his name seven of which are in the premier class.

The 33-year-old Italian rider revealed last week he would rejoin Yamaha at the end of the season after an unsuccessful spell at Italian manufacturer Ducati.

On the eve of the Red Bull Indianapolis Grand Prix, Valentino Rossi explained his decision to leave Ducati to re-join Yamaha in a bid to get back at the front, teaming-up once again with 2010 MotoGP World Champion and current series leader Jorge Lorenzo.

The Italian Minister Franco Frattini Government awarded Rossi the first winning Italy award for the imge he portrays for his country on an International level.
