Lafayette man found guilty of a murder of a cab driver in 2009

Lafayette Louisiana. Aaron James Francois was found guilty a jury of his peers in a Lafayette Parish courthouse of second degree murder charges of the 2009 shooting death of Lafayette cab driver Wallace "Wally" Badeaux.

The case was prosecuted by Lafayette Parish assistant district attorney Pat Magee who said the jury found Francois guilty of commiting an armed robbery that resulted in the death of 35 year old Badeaux.

Francois is currently in a Lafayette Parish Correctional Center.

Kevin Guildhouse and Aaron Francois were accused of shooting Badeaux in the head in his cab on February 23 2009. They stole less than $100 in cab fare cash.

Magee said he will proceed to to charge Guildhouse with murder and aggravated escape charges for Badeaux's death.
