In the onslaught of typhoon Helen, Marikina authorities has raised the first alarm on Marikina river water level reached the 15-meter mark Wednesday afternoon.
The city's public information office, in its Twitter account, said the river's water level was at 15 meters above sea level as of 2:18 p.m.
The water level rose further to 15.2 meters above sea level at 3:45 p.m.
Under the first alarm, residents are warned and advised to monitor the situation.
