David Jones held their Spring/Summer 2012/2013 Menswear Season Launch at the David Jones on Castlereagh Street earlier today, August 14, 2012 in Sydney, Australia.
On show today were designs by Calibre,, Brent Wilson The Basics, Ksubi, Jac and Jack, Bassike and Zanerobe.
Calibre featured a sharp navy double-breasted suit, which was teamed with a striped T-shirt and suede driving mocs; a bright red single-breasted suit – rather stylish and sporty! – also teamed with driving mocs and modeled by Jason Dundas; a pairing of a royal blue blazer with navy blue pants as well as a blue plaid shirt; and a combination of a royal blue pair of pants with a red blazer, plaid red, white and blue shirt and putty colored driving mocs. A very interchangeable wardrobe that is easy-going yet polished.
Jack London presented a selection to include a stylish pale grey single-button closure suit (modeled by Jason Dundas), a dark khaki suit (liked the hat on the model!) and a light khaki pair of pants teamed with a paisley printed jacket.
More casual was the offering by designer Brent Wilson for his The Basics line, who included a short black trench, rolled up to the elbows, teamed with brown pants and accessorized with a bowtie, a floppy hat and wingtip oxfords; and a striped shorts suit, teamed with a matching button-down shirt and accessorized with a bowtie again, a floppy hat and wingtips.
Ksubi was perhaps the most casual of all with their plain T-shirts, ripped cut-off shorts and standard button-down shirts but the black leather biker’s jacket was pretty nice…
Look for Asian-inspired designs from Jac and Jack who featured a khaki suit with a boxy cropped jacket and rolled up trousers to Capri length. Tangerine Bermuda shorts were also paired with a matching long-sleeve button-down shirt. White sneakers and socks completed each look.
If you like nautical stripes, Bassike has you covered. Add to that some sharp black pants and criss-cross black leather sandals and you’ve got the look down pat!
Zanerobe sees men in camouflage shorts and military style jacket shirts, complete with epaulets… So there you go, something for every man!
