Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif Monday said that billions of rupees is embezzled in the name of different fruitless projects like rental power instead of investing it on education. He expressed these views while meeting with the poor student Muhammad Mohsin Ali, who secured first position in B.A examinations in the Punjab University Board. Mohsin who kneads flower in a tandoor. The chief minister said despite financial constraints, student Muhammad Mohsin Ali has achieved a remarkable feat in the field of education, which shows that through determination and commitment, any destination can be achieved. On the occasion he directed Secretary Higher Education to arrange lectures of Muhammad Mohsin Ali at LUMS, Aitcheson College and other prestigious educational institutions, so that other students can share his story which is based on determination, commitment and courage, he maintained. The Chief Minister gave a cheque of rupees one million to the student, Muhammad Mohsin Ali and announced provision of a house for him at Aashiyana Housing Scheme. Adding he said the Punjab government would bear all the academic expenses of Muhammad Mohsin Ali to enable him to acquire as much education as he wants. Senator Pervaiz Rashid, MNA Saira Afzal Tarar, Advisor Zaeem Hussain Qadri, Chairman Planning & Development, Secretary Higher Education, Secretary Information and other concerned authorities were also present on the occasion.
