What is the "SYNAGOGUE OF SATAN"?

• Behold, I will make them of the SYNAGOGUE OF SATAN, which say they are Jews, and are not, but DO LIE... (Rev 3:9 KJV)

Albert Barnes' Notes of the Bible says:
Them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews - Who profess to be Jews, but are really of the synagogue of Satan. The meaning is, that, though they were of Jewish extraction, and boasted much of being Jews, yet they were really under the influence of Satan, and their assemblages deserved to be called his "synagogue." -- BARNES

John Gill's Exposition of the Entire Bible says:
Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan... which may be understood either of the Papists, the followers of the man of sin, whose coming was after the working of Satan, and whose doctrines are the doctrines of devils, many of whom will now be converted, and brought to the true church; or rather of the Jews, who had, and have, and will have till this time, their synagogues for religious worship in their way; but they are no other than synagogues of Satan; the men that assemble in them are of their father the devil, and do his works, and will do them:

which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie... they are Jews outwardly, but not inwardly and spiritually, Rom_2:28; they are carnal wicked men, under the influence of Satan, though they pretend to be religious men, and worshippers of God. -- GILL

WHICH CHURCHES ARE IN THE CATEGORY OF THE 'SYNAGOGUE OF SATAN'? WHAT ARE THE IDENTIFICATIONS (ID's) OF THOSE WHO BELONG TO THE SYNAGOGUE OF SATAN?

If we want to know and identify the characteristics of this Satanic synagogue, we must go to Jesus Christ Himself to explain to us the characteristics of this Satanic synagogue. In Rev 3:9, 2:9, and John 8:31-47, our LORD and Savior Jesus Christ revealed the following characteristics that identify this Synagogue of Satan.

IDENTIFICATION 1: PEOPLE AND CHURCHES THAT CLAIM TO BE JEWS BUT ARE NOT ACCORDING TO GOD'S DEFINITION. THEY ARE COMMITTING BLASPHEMY!

• ... I know THE BLASPHEMY OF THOSE SAYING THEMSELVES TO BE JEWS, AND ARE NOT, but are the SYNAGOGUE OF SATAN. (Rev 2:9 MKJV)

Adam Clarke's Commentary on the Bible says:
The blasphemy of them which say they are Jews - There were persons there who professed Judaism, and had a synagogue in the place, and professed to worship the true God; but they had no genuine religion, and they served the Devil rather than God. They applied a sacred name to an unholy thing: and this is one meaning of the word blasphemy in this book. -- CLARKE

IDENTIFICATION 2: THEY ARE THE RELIGIOUS CHRISTIANS AND JEWS WHO BELIEVED ON CHRIST, BUT THEY DON'T CONTINUE IN CHRIST'S TEACHINGS. THEY DON'T GROW, AND ARE NOT SET FREE FROM SIN!

• Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; (Joh 8:31 KJV)

• And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. (Joh 8:32 KJV)

• They answered him, We be Abraham's seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free? (Joh 8:33 KJV)

• Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin. (Joh 8:34 KJV)

IDENTIFICATION 3: THEY SEEK TO KILL CHRIST, AND CHRIST'S WORD HAS NO PLACE IN THEM
