Spice Girls reunite to perform at closing cermony

It was the first time the British '90s group has performed together since their reunion tour more than four years ago.

The group's performance was one of the most highly anticipated events of the entire games.

The 90s girl band - made up of Victoria Beckham, Geri Halliwell, Mel B, Emma Bunton and Mel C - arrived individually on the top of jewelled black London taxicabs that glided across the stage.

Spice Girls renditions of "Wannabe" and "spice UP Your Life "got the crowd up and dancing. During the latter song, each of the five Spices performed while standing on top of their respective cabs, gripping metal rails for support.

Geri Halliwell wore a short red dress while Mel B echoed her girl band days with a glittered gold catsuit and Mel C opted for a stark white trouser suit.

Emma Bunton turned out in a short pink minidress while fashion designer Victoria Beckham stunned in a black dress featuring a long black trail.

The Closing Ceremony also featured “A Symphony of British Music,” celebrating Britain's music scenes over the last 50 years, including the biggest names of British pop includingGeorge Michael, Elbow, Madness, Queen, Take That and Annie Lennox.
