Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Chiefon Sunday stressed that to ensure survival of democracy in the country both the Parliament and judiciary should accept each other. Addressing via telephone the annual programme of MQM's welfare wing, Khidmat-e-Khalq Foundation (KKF) to distribute alms among the poor, Altaf Hussain urged the political and religious parties to come forward for the for the security of the country. "Politicians, security institutions and judiciary should also work for the betterment of the country," he added. On extortion and law and order of Karachi, the MQM Chief alleged that terrorists were being secretly patronized and the entire Pakistan was being held hostage at the hands of extortion and Parchi mafias but the rulers continue to observe a criminal silence on these issues. "Is it MQM's fault that weapons (from other parts of the country) come into Karachi after passing through thousands of security checkpoints," Altaf Hussain reiterated. He regretted that people belonging to Hindu community were migrating from the country to India despite Quaid-e-Azam's statement after Pakistan's coming into being that followers of religions other than Islam were also Pakistanis. "But later, this speech was taken off from the syllabus," he lamented.
