Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge, would not be able to remain for the closing ceremony on Sunday next because he has to attend the call of duty.
He had been present with Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, at the opening ceremony of the 2012 London Olympics and had been an ardent supporter of Team GB.
But, he has to now return to his post of helicopter rescue pilot of the RAF on expiry of his period of leave.
This has been reported in telegraph.co.uk of dated 10th of August 2012.
However, the Duchess of Cambridge would be present at the closing ceremony with Prince Harry – the ceremony would have noted singers like George Michael, Sir Paul McCartney and The Who. They would mime the songs because there would not be sufficient time available to prepare the stage with all necessary equipment.
The presence of Queen Elizabeth II at the program is still in suspense – would she enact another surprising arrival as she did at the opening with James Bond?
