A woman who complained of itching in the left side of her head went to China's Changsha Central Hospital and was told by doctors that the cause of irritation was a spider that had been living inside her ear canal for five days.
A saline solution was used by doctors to flush out the spider in order to avoid having the spider to dig deeper inside the canal or may even bite her.
The flushing technique eventually got rid of the spider and the woman reportedly wept with appreciation. Doctors believe the spider gained access in the woman's home while the home was being renovated, and creep into her ear while she was sleeping.
CNN report said that this summer spiders and other bugs are appearing in greater numbers due to warm weather and drought conditions across the U.S. Jim Fredericks, an entomologist and wildlife ecology expert with the National Pest Management Association told the network that all insects are cold-blooded, so under extreme heat they develop quicker, and as a result there are more generations cracking up now in contrast to previous summers.
