Low-cost Vietnamese airline VietJet Air took in-flight entertainment to a whole new level for hosting a mid-flight dance by bikini-clad beauty pageant contestants without prior permission.
The state owned newpaper Tuoi Tre reported on Thursday that the low-cost carrier VietJet Air was fined 1000 dollars for hosting a Hawaiian- themed dance by bikini-clad beauty pageant contestants to celebrate its maiden flight between Ho Chi Minh City and the popular tourist hub of Nha Trang.
On an August 3 flight five women from a local beauty contest put on a three-minute dance down the aisle for the passengers. The performance was recorded on phones and cameras and posted online.
Vietnamese regulators said that because the show had not been approved beforehand, it breached federal aviation and security regulations, Digital Journal reported.
