On Thursday, an unidentified Florida man jumped 22 stories to his death; and nearly caused another death; by landing on top of an SUV, with its driver sitting inside. The 40-year-old reportedly jumped from a Manhattan hotel’s 22nd-floor fitness centre and left the vehicle’s 37-year-old driver Engel Nicasio in complete shock. Miraculously, Engel remained absolutely safe in the accident!
According to the details, the incident occurred at the Manhattan’s midtown Peninsula Hotel, located on Fifth Ave. near 55th St., at around 8:55 a.m. The unidentified man was at the fitness centre’s sun deck from where, he allegedly jumped to his death but incidentally landed on a Cadillac Escalade, parked across the street.
Awaiting his passenger, the luxury SUV’s driver enjoyed a cup of coffee inside the vehicle when ‘something’ banged into his Cadillac Escalade, leaving him completely shocked and his car’s passenger side crushed from above. Subsequently describing his ‘feelings,’ Engel said initially he thought it was some kind of construction accident or perhaps, debris falling from a building.
However, when he exited the vehicle to look at whatever it was; he was terrified to find that it was a human body. Completely startled at the horrible site, poor driver said he was unable to take his eyes off the body until somebody pulled him away. It was not immediately clear whether the man committed suicide or else; someone pushed him down from the roof top.
