Obama may have attended Columbia University as a foreign exchange student

Young Obama

President Barack Obama, known as Barry Soetoro during his college days at Occidental, Columbia & Harvard Law school, paid little or no tuition because of foreign aid & scholarships given to poor kids like Barry from Indonesia.

These are the claims of one Wayne Allyn Root, who also attended Columbia University at the same time that Obama claims to have attended the school in the early '80s.

Root has no recollection of Barack Obama ever attending Columbia University nor for that matter, any of the 400 or so ramdom classmates that were contacted back in 2008 when Obama was running for president.

Root speculates that when Obama's mother brought him back to Hawaii to stay with his grandparents, she never changed his citizenship back to American. This is the reason why he may have never paid tuition and was attending Columbia University as a foreign exchange student.

Root is correct in his assumptions that if Obama did attend Columbia, why would he spend more than $4 million dollars to date keeping those records a secret? As he argues, if his grades were great, why would you want to keep this information a secret, And if his grades were really bad, how did he get into Harvard Law School?

All of this could easily be remedied by simply doing what Root suggests:

Have Mitt Romney call a national press conference, and offer to release his tax records in return for having Obama release all of his records while at Columbia, his passport records, his medical records, his financial records related to the $40,000 gift he received from Tony Rezko and how much taxes he paid on that gift, and anything else that might shed some light about his very clandestine past. I think this is a fair exchange and would put to bed all doubts on both sides.

Wayne Allyn Root's complete commentary can be found here.

The accusation continue to pile up by both sides. Donald Trump recommended the same. Whether or not Obama actually spend $4 Million to keep his records sealed is not confirmed either. It is only speculation.

It is unclear where Trump learned of the $4 million figure he cites.

However, as WND reported, Robert Bauer is a former partner at Perkins Coie and former top lawyer for Obama, Obama’s presidential campaign, the Democratic National Committee and Obama’s Organizing for America. He is the same lawyer who defended President Obama in lawsuits challenging his eligibility to be president.

In 2009, WND reported Obama had paid Perkins Coie, a single law firm, $2.6 million between the time he announced his campaign for presidency and November 2009, the month Bauer left his position at Perkins Coie to become White House counsel. (By contrast, a cumulative total of all of Sen. John McCain’s legal consulting fees, from Jan. 1, 2007, to October 2009, amounted to only $1.6 million.)

WND also reported that Bauer sent a letter to plaintiff Gregory Hollister, a retired Air Force colonel, of Hollister v. Soetoro, threatening sanctions if he didn’t withdraw his appeal of the eligibility case that earlier was tossed by a district judge because the issue already had been “twittered.”

“For the reasons stated in Judge Robertson’s ruling, the suit is frivolous and should not be pursued,” Bauer’s letter warned. “Should you decline to withdraw this frivolous appeal, please be informed that we intend to pursue sanctions, including costs, expenses, and attorneys’ fees, pursuant to Federal Rule of Appellate Procedure 38 and D.C. Circuit Rule 38.”

So I think we have a stalemate on income tax returns and the issue of sealing college records.

It just keeps getting slimier, you gotta love it. Grown men acting like kids.

@ Karl,

I think both candidates are wasting too much of their money on distracting the American electorate with the insignificant. But I do agree with Mr. Wayne Allyn Root that as long as the Obama campaign continues to harp on Romney's taxes, then everything should be fair game including Obama's college records and his clandestine past.

I agree my friend. Sound-bytes work though and they know it. Most don't dive into the issues and as such get influenced by these stupid side shows. I agree as long as they continue to harp on the tax return issue, everything is on the table.

Sounds pretty good to me...

Sounds reasonable to me... let's face it... Obama has never run on issue in his life... he runs on slander and innuendo.

This is from an article in politico. go figure.

"The ruthless Senate majority leader sees political gold in his attack on Romney — and he’s got the blessing from President Barack Obama’s campaign for the attack, even if he lacks evidence on Romney’s failure to pay taxes. Reid has calculated that the frenzy created by his charge has accomplished exactly what he sought to do: Turn the focus back onto the GOP nominee’s unreleased tax returns, according to several people close to the leader and the campaign. For Reid, he’s got virtually nothing to lose: His approval ratings back home are still upside-down, and he may not even run for reelection when he’s up for a sixth term in 2016. On top of that, his aides say, Reid genuinely believes his source..." http://townhall.com/tipsheet/guybenson/2012/08/04/surprise_obama_campaign_explicitly_approved_reids_lies_about_romneys_taxes

The article also quotes a top Reid confidant saying:

“What Republicans don’t get is the more they fire back at Reid, the more he will fight, and in the end, what will the topic be? Romney and his taxes.”

Why wasn't this brought out four years ago?
Reply By Redhanded101 Redhanded | 10 months ago
@adrian,

It was brought out but the media and |John McCain were awstruck by Obama and all the history behind the first Black President scared off everybody off this story because they did not want to be painted as racist.

Most records including the Columbia records were seized by the secret service early on in the Obama 2008 campaign. Likely destroyed, since they were not - at the time - "evidence." Rumors of course still persist that the birth certificate finally released was a fabrication and the Sheriff of Maricopa County is on record with his analysis. readers need to google the details - they are convincing - to find out for themselves.

The sheriff claims that the law has been broken on several levels and the cynical and late release of the alleged fakery is a prosecutable and possibly impeachable crime. It doesn't matter. The media has been covering for Obama since day one. Why and how, don't ask.

The fact is, the nation knows very little about Obama's past and activities, and much of the electorate is blinded by HOPE 4 CHANGE.

The power of this hope is overwhelming reason.

The second time 'round.

And Mitt Romney was a racist bully in high school. Guess what? I don't care if the loonies want to see Obama's pre-school crayon marks. It means nothing. What matters is why Romney is hiding his tax returns.

YOU'RE RIGHT! Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi are demanding that Romney release his tax returns. He has for the last two years.

Now we demand that Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi release theirs. For they had made tens of millions during the last three years, one on insider trading, and We, the People, want to know how, how much, and from whom.

Insofar as Romney's money, am I supposed to worry about how he spends his money and not worry about how Obama spends mine?
