Iran asked Turkey and Qatar to help in the release of 48 Iranians abducted in Syria yesterday on their way by bus from the tomb of Lady Zainab to Damascus International Airport. The news agency of the Islamic Republic of Iran said that Tehran had formally requested from Turkey and Qatar to help secure the release of 48 Iranians abducted in Damascus.

The agency said that Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu and his Qatari counterpart Sheikh Hamad bin Jassem bin Jabor Al Thani agreed to help in the quest for the release of the Iranians during two separate telephone calls with Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi.

Earlier, state television said that Iran's Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi, made a telephone call late yesterday with his Turkish counterpart Ahmet Davutoglu, and asked for help in the release of the abductees.

Hundreds of thousands of Iranians go to Syria every year to visit the shrine of Sayyida Zainab daughter of Imam Ali bin Abi Talib (16 km south of Damascus), which is a magnet for visitors of the Shiites in Damascus. The Iranian embassy in Damascus, Syria's official SANA has announced yesterday that 48 of the Iranian pilgrims were kidnapped by "armed terrorist groups" when they were traveling in a bus to Damascus airport Despite the strained relationship between Tehran and Ankara on the back of the Syrian event, the two countries are considered the most powerful in the Middle East have maintained contacts in common.

It is strange enough that , we , in Egypt have the real shrine of Sayyida Zainab daughter of Imam Ali bin Abi Talib peace be upon her. I don't know what is there in Damascus ? . I'm Sunni and I'm sure of my information . What will happen if Egypt allows the Iranians to come? - which is not allowed now - of course , millions of Shittes will come to visit Sayyida Zainab and her brother El Hussein, - also we have in Egypt the shrine of the head of El Husein in Cairo- , may be all the Iranians will come to live in Cairo ,. Egypt fears the expansion of the creed of the Shitte propagation . Syria doesn't fear the Shittes because there are already a lot of Shittes in Syria, since AlAssad is Aliwette; which is a branch of the Shittes
