Iran has a new, more accurate short-range missile capable of striking land and sea targets which has been test fired Saturday. It was a show of strength that highlighted its capability to hit shipping in the Strait of Hormuz if attacked.
The short-range missile 'Fateh' (Conqueror) 110 could hit Israel and US bases in the region if it comes under siege. It also threatened to block the Strait of Hormuz, the neck of the Gulf which 40 percent of the world’s oil exports pass through.
The missile is said to have a range of around 180 miles, capable of striking Iran's immediate neighbors and might also be able to hit Hormuz shipping, in addition to energy facilities in Saudi Arabia and the U.S. fifth fleet in Bahrain.
