A New Jersey man, 37, died after his SUV that he was driving went out of control and plummeting 100 feet off the Palisades in Bergen County this morning, police said. It was not known what led to the crash.

The identity of the victim who plunged to his death about two miles south of the George Washington Bridge at 2:40 a.m. was not released by police. Sources said the man seemed to be heading toward south on Gorge Road, from Cliffside Park to Edgewater.
