“Thousands dead in triple attack” , by Ben Macintyre echoed a different interpretation of the attacks. Yet, remained close to the idea of the attacks as a conflict of ideologies. Macintyre considers the attacks on the twin towers as a mere mean to spread a certain message.

The subtitle is Macintyre’s interpretation of the attacks. According to the journalist the aim was what the towers and the Pentagon stood for . The terrorists wanted to destroy American “capitalism” and “defense”. The twin towers and the Pentagon were means which enabled the terrorists to attain their aim. The human losses were a result of the events.
