Miami Gardens Florida. The Miami Dolphins had their first scrimmage of training camp Saturday at Sun Life Stadium in front of an announced crowd of 8,721 attending the event.

Miami Dolphins head coach Joe Philbin said his coaching staff would evaluate the three quarterbacks on the basis of all of training camp and not one scrimmage.

All three Miami Dolphins quarterbacks David Garrard, Matt Moore and Ryan Tannehill played in the scrimmage drills.

David Garrard started the scrimmage with the offense first team in the opening drive against the Dolphins first team defense.

Garrard was replaced by Matt Moore for played the the next three drives with the offense second team versus the first team defense and then Tannehill replaced Moore to complete the scrimmage drills.

Philbin said by the third game of the preseason he hoped he would name his starting quarterback when the Dolphins have a preseason game versus the Atlanta Falcons.

On Friday Philbin changed his mind and said about the announcement of who would be his starting quarterback "It's kind of open ended."
