US Track and Field Olympic Trials Continue, Sending More Athletes to London: Road to London
Athletes are punching their tickets to London at the US Track and Field Olympic Trials. Veteran and three-time Olympic medalist Sanya Richards-Ross gets an invitation to London. She can now pursue an Olympic gold in the 400m. Two-time Olympic Gold medalist, LaShawn Merritt secures his Olympic berth and the right to defend his Olympic title. Also headling was Justin Gatlin, who sprinted his way to victory in the 100m. Tyson Gay followed in second and Ryan Bailey in 3rd for the 100m event. All three secured Olympic nominations. Reigning 100m hurdle champion Dawn Harper is headed to London after edging out Kelly Wells. Wells finishing second and Lolo Jones in third secured a spot on the 2012 Team USA. Harper won gold in Beijing and is looking to repeat the victory in London.
