The Turkish military conducted a military exercise Friday on the border with Syria. The agency said «Anatolia» Turkish News, Friday, that the leadership of «Brigade 5» armor of the Turkish army carried out maneuvers in the state of Gazi Antep on the border with Syria.

The report said that the exercises took place near the border of the point of contact with Syria. Fighters and armored vehicles took part in maneuvers with their vehicles, which included tanks, too, live ammunition, also included testing systems ,surveillance cameras and night observation.

The report pointed to the participation of missile launchers «Stinger», vehicles and rapid intervention in the exercises. The report said that the border region is witnessing successive maneuvers day and night for the Turkish army at the point of contact with Syria, where Ankara has strengthened the presence of its armed forces in border areas.

For his part, Herve Ladsous, Under-Secretary-General for Peacekeeping Operations, believed that what he described as «the great battle» between the regular army and the Syrian opposition is about to begin in the city of Aleppo.

Ladsous warned - In his remarks carried by the network (CNN) U.S., on Friday, there was a mobilization of the major elements of combat and various military equipment in the city of Aleppo, and expressed his belief that the main battle will break out soon in this city.

Meanwhile , the UN estimates that there are more than 3 million Syrians in need of humanitarian aid next year, and tens of thousands of Syrian refugees have fled to neighboring countries.
