Gen Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, Gen John Allen Allen lock horns over cross-border incursions

ISAF commander General John Allen Thursday called on Pakistan Army Chief General Ashfaq Pervaiz Kayani during his one-day visit.

Earlier, General John Allen, top US commander stationed in Afghanistan arrived in Pakistan on Thursday, signaling a patch up between the two countries after the signing of MoU and release of Coalition Support Fund.

In a statement issued by Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), General Allen met Chief of Army Staff Ashfaq Pervaiz Kayani and discussed key issues related to defence, regional security and situation of Afghanistan.

The two top commanders also talked about the implementation of objectives discussed in the trilateral meeting and scrutinize steps taken for the border coordination.

The meeting held at a time when ISI chief is in Washington for negotiations with his US counterpart.

Pakistan has recently reopened supply routes for US-led NATO troops deployed in war-turn neighbor country and bilateral ties between two countries seem getting better.
