A team of 55 Mexican cooks served up a huge 700-Kg 53-metre long sandwich to mark the beginning of a food festival, the 9th annual Torta Fair which was celebrated in the Venustiano Carrazanda borough in Mexico.
The torta was stuffed with 70 different kinds of fillings which included steak, chicken, seafood, turkey, fish and bacon.

The cooks claimed that this was the largest sandwich in the world.
It is revealed that more than 55 exhibitors would take part in the 5-day fair – they would be from not only Mexico but from other countries as well – countries like Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Argentina and Venezuela.
Officials a good attendance of over 35,000 with more than 600,000 tortas being sold.
The objective of the fair is to promote and popularize Mexican fast foods.
