Moslemuddin Sarkar had been missing since 1989 and had been presumed to be dead. But, he surprised not only his family but his village of Bishnurampur in northern Mymensingh district of Bangladesh as well when he came back alive after an absence of 23-years.
It seems the International Committee of the Red Cross helped in his return from a jail in Pakistan where he had been languishing for the past 15 years in Pakistani jails.

It seems he had entered India in search of work without valid documents in 1989 and without informing his family. But, he was caught as he was trying to cross over into Pakistan in 1997.
In Pakistan, he was jailed for trying to enter the country illegally.
He had tried to contact his family and had apparently written many letters but those never reached his family.
