A bomb threat was received over the phone by the San Antonio International airport in Texas and the airport of around 2000 passengers was immediately evacuated.
When such threats are received, no airport can afford to dismiss it or take it lightly because thousands of lives evolved and the bomb squads have to go through the complete drill.
It seems the threat in this case mentioned of three specific packets containing the ‘bombs’ in three specific locations of the airport.
The threat apparently mentioned that the bombs were in the basement of the car park and the initial response of the sniffer dogs appeared to be positive.
However, nothing was found and the all-clear has since been given.
The airport is a busy one and handles an average of nearly 260 domestic and international flights and carries more than 14,000 to 15,000 passengers every day.
