Is it a bird? No, it’s the Mayor of London Boris Johnson’s got stuck in his latest publicity stunt in the Olympics. Telegraph UK reports, "Mr Johnson was featuring as a “special guest” in Victoria Park, London, to ride the 1,050ft (320m) zip line, donning a hard hat and two Union flags as he attempted to sail down."
The 5-minute hanging of Mayor of London happened in afternoon of Day 5 of the Olympics but moments later, Johnson's photo ended up trending on Twitter as onlookers snapped photos on their mobile phones.
The mayor was heard saying, “Get me a rope, get me a ladder… I think the brakes got stuck”, as the ground teams moved in to pull the mayor back. Johnson got stuck for almost 5 minutes before he was taken down.
Few days ago mayor of London Boris Johnson hit out at US presidential candidate Mitt Romney gaffe for comments suggesting Britain is not ready to stage the Olympic Games as BBC reports.
He was quoted saying, "I hear there's a guy called Mitt Romney who wants to know whether we're ready," Johnson told a crowd of tens of thousands of people who had gathered in Hyde Park, in central London. He added, "He wants to know whether we're ready. Are we ready? Are we ready? Yes, we are!"
As day passes by, it looks like Mitt Romney is more and more accurate, refering to the zip wire slight malfuction. Anything can happen with week to go on Olympics.
